First, I use the word "douche" in only the most extreme circumstances. In my experience, it's a word most often employed by betas resentful of alphas making all the money and slaying all the bitches.
Now.
There is nothing wrong with Rolex. I personally don't like their styling. And they've been selling way, way over retail for years. When I see them, I assume the wearer is not a watch enthusiast, but is just trying to show status. Which is fine. Like lordspooge with his shoes. Nothing wrong with it. And there are some folks, John Mayer for example, who are watch enthusiasts that really like Rolex. All this is fine.
But I'm not wearing them.
The AP Royal Oak is another one. People get caught up in social media hype and they start paying well more than they should because they want to be perceived in a certain way. Group think consumes better judgement. When I was on vacation last year, I saw a fat dude wearing a Royal Oak, and I assumed the guy was a sap. That's just my impression.
These are only my opinions, the opinions of this Noble Ballerman.
