How many seconds of Stevie talking will they show? Will it be like the Metal Years with him saying, "Some girl bought me new boots!"?

Looks pretty good, though going from the trailer, most of these stories have been told repeatedly, and the footage has been seen before.
The only difference is in 2024, this is coming from the vantage point of a victory lap; as Bret stated, the music has stood the test of time.
When VH1 did similar shows in the early 2000' (When Metal Ruled the World, for instance), this music was left for dead.
I don't have Paramount+ but I'm sure like everything else, it'll be out there.

Other than a few groups like Poison, the Crue, and the Leps that have cultivated a nostalgia market, the rest are still viewed as one big joke.

Remember a couple of months ago when we were discussing REM? I mentioned being at a Memorial Day party that had classic rock radio on. I would say roughly a little more than half of it is hair metal. The image is still not accepted by many, but the songs have survived - Cherry Pie, Round and Round, Here I Go Again, Livin' On a Prayer, Gypsy Road, Final Countdown, Don't Tell Me You Love Me, in addition to Poison, Crue, Leppard, etc. And I couldn't even begin to list the power ballads. Plus, if you go to a sporting event, hair metal is ubiquitous. So yes, in my estimation the music has survived, even if some of the bands are mental midgets today.

You are correct, REM's legacy is a black hole, and for that we can all be glad.

Episode 1 in its entirety:
My review:
Definitely not must-see TV.
We've heard these stories countless times, and they just give synopses. We know Randy Rhoads died in a plane crash, we know Blackie Lawless tossed raw meat at audiences, we know about the Ozzy/Crue tour, etc.
While there are blurbs about Cum On Feel the Noiz and Round and Round, the music was mostly an afterthought. This is a shame, since so many songs from that era are now mainstays on classic rock radio/playlists.
The emphasis is on what rowdy party animals all the guys were. It doesn't make them look cool; they look like imbeciles. Mix in the fact that in the short time since this was filmed, two key interviewees, Steven Riley and Jack Russell, have passed.
Some of the footage is interesting, but there are only snippets. I also give them credit for getting Tom Werman on camera.

I didn't know Bach tried to kill their pilot...mid flight. Was restrained be members of Extreme. The Skid guys did nothing. They said it's just Sebastian being Sebastian.

Finished the first episode and half of the second. Why did they show a picture of Helix's lead singer in the middle of the Great White segment? What the fuck was that?
