I may have to use the bus soon when my car is in the shop this Monday. I offered to pay a friend to take me back, but he declined. Used the bus last Friday for the heck of it and they let me ride for free. It was free week. Normally, it's only 2 bucks for a day pass. Just because you're not poor doesn't mean you can't take advantage of cheap transportation provided by the state. You might have to ride with some meth heads, here and there, though.

Nothing wrong with it. I believe the Nobleman uses the public bus for most of his transpo needs.

Middle class people could definitely save a few bucks and help the environment. Americans do like their cars and taking up space.

Whenever I go to New Orleans I just ride the bus. It beats the fuck out of hunting for and paying to park everywhere. We always stay at the same bed and breakfast, and it has a bus stop in front of it.

- The Knäve *ech* Yeah if you're driving in London or NYC you're too stupid to live. Just driving 2 blocks in NYC last weekend from the parking lot to pick up the family at the hotel was enough to make me want to kill someone.

You might have to ride with some meth heads, here and there, though. Hi Bahana. The meth heads are part of the reason only poor people take the bus.
Middle class people rent a car, take Uber/Lyft, own a spare car, or have a limousine dart them around in the unlikely event the dealership doesn't provide a courtesy vehicle.
The American middle class, by and large, doesn't live within reasonable walking distance to bus stations, only poor Americans do. That's who the buses were designed to serve.
If you're taking the bus in Modesto, you're probably poor.
Poor people can live a lot like regular people. Poor people can even own bitch-grabbing blazers. They just have to buy them at Kohl's.
I hope this helps.

BahanaMan - Maybe this body shop will provide a driver. They are on the outskirts of town, so I'm not quite sure. It wasn't the least expensive shop. One guy gave me a lesser quote and then called me the next day not remembering our previous conversation. I cancelled after that red flag.

When I first met my wife my primary mode of transportation was skateboard + bus. It was Marin County so rarely was it too sketchy but I did see some sights that I believe are only seen on Public Transportation. I don't miss it...

Things are different in Europe. People ride bikes and take public transportation more often. **Update** I ended up taking Uber. Didn't feel like standing around for almost an hour. The driver complained about Uber taking 60 percent of the fare.
