I didn't go, and I regret it! He played three nights at the famous Olympia (where the Beatles, Hendrix and the Stones played on their first Paris visits) and the night three (last night) was broadcast on Arte. I can't say that I'm a huge fan of the guy, but that looks like a killer show. The excitement is palpable. Check it out:

You can have this dude. Most obnoxious guitar tones in the history of guitar playing. Just utterly unlistenable.

Really? His tone is a big part of his appeal, I think. Just listen to that opening song on the video I just posted, I think it's killer.

Horrible. His voice is just as obnoxious. He's usually the first artist that comes to mind when someone says name an artist you just can't understand the popularity behind. He's it. It's not necessarily his songs or his playing, although neither are much to brag about, it's the actual sounds/tones. Just sonically horrible all around.

Yeah afa his guitar "sound" is concerned, he's not chasing tone, he's chasing oomph. If Neil Young's lo-fi, then he's no-fi.
