Box is a weird term for pussy but I guess I can see where it comes from. I mean, you can put things in a box, like you can put things in a vagina. So why not? Still, I find it weird and I don't think I'm alone.

Found out about this show yesterday. And I found out this afternoon that it had just sold out. According to the bartender, the capacity of the tiny Klub is 102 people, so I wasn't too surprised the show sold out. Last time I saw MC was right before covid hit, at "La Machine" (opening for Poland's Batushka), which holds around 800 people. Yet I managed to get on the guestlist, yay! I was at the back of the room during Witchmaster's set. They're from Poland and play blackened-war-thrash, or something like that. After their set, everyone fled the room (which is two flights downstairs from ground level - it's gotta suck being a roadie here) so that was a good opportunity to grab a pint and secure a spot right in front of the stage. Malevolent Creation was soon on... Poor guys, this was one of the smallest venues they've ever played in, yet they plowed through a 70+ minute set in great spirits. At various points between songs, they asked for more lights, for some beer, for some whiskey...and they got none of that good stuff! Just applause from a crowd that was very grateful to see them in such an intimate setting. For a band that's been around for 36 years (Phil Fasciana remains the sole original member), it was fun seeing all the fuckups (Phil's low E string kept sliding out of place mid-song, one of his cables occasionally cut out, mid-song again, and when they introduced the song Multiple Stab Wounds, the soundman started playing the intro to another song, which they ended up having to play first...) All in all, this was a great way to spend a Monday night. Some shitty pix: http://instagram.com/p/CxWbinBKpnn
