I never heard Michael Schenker much since he never broke in the States. I checked out the clips, and they are very good. I really dig his "half-cocked" wah sound, though overall he did get a tad redundant.
And here's my bad take you can ridicule me for - as good as he is, I like Matthias Jabs better, and think the Scorpions were better with him.

Not live but as I've stated numerous times on the boards this is my all time favorite electric guitar solo. Every note is sublime perfection. Also thunderous bottom end from Ted McKenna and Chris Glen of The Sensation Alex Harvey Band and a super breathy Graham Bonnet...

There are intangibles in rock and roll that outweigh technical proficiency. If there weren't, Dream Theater would be the Rolling Stones.  And there are other examples: Poison is better with CC, Kiss is better with Ace, Whitesnake is better with anyone other than Vai, etc. |
