I do enjoy me some Misplaced Childhood/ Clutching at Straws era Marillion... I do too, but I like the "current" Marillion even more. "Brave" or "Afraid of Sunlight" (which are thirty years old now...) are just as good as (or even better than) anything they did with Fish.

Again I hope you're not assuming I haven't heard current Marillion. I have. I'll stand by my original statement. I prefer current Fish to current Marillion actually...

Don't worry, I'm not assuming anything, you're telling me what I like and I'm telling you what I like. You know, like a conversation... I used to prefer the Fish era, but now I find myself more in tune with their current incarnation. Even their last album is fantastic. I didn't think much of it until I heard them play it live in its entirety last year. As for Fish, his last record is probably my favorite (well, maybe tied with the debut and/or Feast of Consequences) but I hesitate to compare it to Marillion... They've diverged so drastically. It's one of the rare instances of a break-up producing two great acts and fans getting the best of both worlds.

Fish isnt still in Marillion?? That's right. Also, Brian Jones left the Rolling Stones and eventually died. So now he's dead. Yeah.

Didn’t they do a song called Kayley? Or something like that? I remember listening to that album. The one that sold. Wasn’t a fan. Maybe I’ll try again.

Yeah. I thought Kalee was the “ballad.” Assumed they were an AOR / Hairmetal band based on that. Not even close.
