Slayer, Iron Maiden and Mötley Crüe to headline Northern California’s largest rock festival By Aidin Vaziri Feb 28, 2024
Slayer, Slipknot, Iron Maiden and Mötley Crüe are set to headline the 2024 Aftershock Festival, the largest heavy metal concert in Northern California.
The four-day event, scheduled to take place from Oct. 10 to 13 at Discovery Park in Sacramento, features eight headliners in all and a lineup of over 130 acts, including Pantera, Judas Priest, Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, Evanescence, Staind, Mastodon, Dropkick Murphys, Anthrax and more.
To accommodate the festival’s most extensive lineup to date, organizers plan to introduce a fifth stage for the 12th annual event. With last year’s concert drawing around 160,000 attendees, according to promoter Danny Wimmer, this year’s Aftershock Festival is anticipated to be “the largest rock and metal festival ever put together in California.”
Single-day and four-day passes, priced between $129.99 to $1439.96, are available at aftershockfestival.com.
The festival marks Slayer’s only West Coast appearance for the year, following its farewell tour in 2019. Additionally, it will be Iron Maiden’s only U.S. festival performance for 2024. Heavy metal band Pantera, initially scheduled for Aftershock last year, is back on the bill.
Those who plan to travel should book their hotel rooms now. According to Visit Sacramento, nearly all hotel rooms around the festival grounds are already booked.
More Information Aftershock Festival: Oct. 10-13. Tickets start at $129.99. Discovery Park, 1600 Garden Hwy., Sacramento. aftershockfestival.com.

That's quite a bill. Regardless of what your thoughts may be on these bands there's no denying that they're all big names with strong headlining power.

That really is quite a lineup.
Hey, Till Lindemann (lead singer of Rammstein) is direct support for Slayer! Since we're (now) talking Rammstein, on a tangentially related note, did I mention I have a Rammstein tribute band, and me and my Boa will be coming down to San Diego for a series of big casino shows?

That's cool. Please tell us more! Would you have any photos you'd be willing to post here? I'd love to see what kind of backdrop you use.

*ech*, Since I'm not speaking to OB, please thank him for posting the poster. And that he's an asshole.
I think Scars on Broadway is pretty good. I guess Deron needs a bunch of attention, and is now calling it "Deron Malakian and Scars on Broadway. "Ooh, look at me! Look at me! I'm making it all about myself! I need attention! Look at me!"
It's like something OB (who I am not speaking to) would do.

Dear *ech*,
Please tell fuckhuey he's welcome - the poster really is the best way to do it and also, fuck you (huey, not *ech*).
Thank you.

Box is a weird term for pussy but I guess I can see where it comes from. I mean, you can put things in a box, like you can put things in a vagina. So why not? Still, I find it weird and I don't think I'm alone.

Pretty cool lineup.
If I had to pick just one day it would be white trash day: Slayer/Pantera/Insane Clown Posse/Cypress Hill... followed by Priest/Anthrax/Senjoupsoup day...

Me?
I'm getting away from the white trash this Saturday at CRSSD. You should join Bahana, Ronnie, and me.
It'll be a white-trash-free event (except, possibly, for Bahana should he choose not to wear a boa).

Please tell Ronnie that'd make things easier, not having to go through you or dopehead or DemonFilth2001 or *ech*.
And tell him, thank you.

Does anyone actually camp out for Aftershock as if they were at Wacken?

The NoblemanWhy flee the white trash element? I'm not familiar with ICP, but I'm sure those people are a riot to party with.
In fact, I'm wearing white trash gear right now: a Fear of the Dark wife-beater (I hate that album, but it was a gift, and it allow me to show off my modest - but slowly growing - guns)
Can't make CRSSD Satuday, unfortunately, I'll be in a train that afternoon, heading home from vacay!
