How often do you ride a bicycle? Is it really good exercise? Do people assume you are homeless?

I just bought a mountain bike a month or two ago and am enjoying it. I go for rides on the weekend and mid week too. Fire roads, and tails too.
Yes, its good exercise. Also gets you out in nature, unlike the nobleman, cooped up on his little treadmill

I used to like to walk the mean streets in my central valley town. The bicyclists who do it for exercise usually save it for the early morning. The ones on the busy streets during the day are usually homeless. When I was in Poland I noticed more everyday bicyclists. Not as much of a car culture there.

There are over 200k people out here in the middle of nowhere. They do have dedicated biking areas down by a creek next to the vineyards and golf course.

This is a flat valley. No mountains.

Why would people assume you're homeless for riding a bike?
I bought a bike to ride with my family around the neighborhood. I'm very tall, extremely tall, much much taller than Lenny Kravitz and Sting, so I had to get this super-sized bike so that it was ergonomically correct, and it was a lot of money.
Only to find that I much prefer walking with my family because it's better for conversation.
For exercise, I do the elliptical. No bullshit. It counts your shit and is in a controlled environment.
I prefer gathering data in a controlled environment, doing real work, to the sun.
I'm not a fat girl.

I’m sorry to hear that you couldn’t hack hiking.

I’m sorry to hear that you couldn’t hack hiking. Not sure if you mean elliptical-boy on his treadmill to nowhere, or me.
If you mean me, I can hack hiking. Just last weekend, i biked fri and sat and then a 7 mile hike in the mountains on sun
This weekend, biking was yesterday and hiking was this morning. Tomorrow? Who knows!
