The guy from Foreigner sounds like he is doing his best Lou Rawls imitation. Yikes! Haven't watched the Styx end of it. And these days, it looks & sounds like John Waite is trying as hard as he can to not sing the songs like they were recorded. Still a fan though.

That kind of music ain't really my bag, but it's a great bill for those who dig it. I saw the band that calls itself Foreigner about two years ago, they were extremely good and so was their singer. Of course, there was not one person on that stage who had played one note on the original recordings of the songs they performed... That made it an odd experience.

This is a joke.
Lou Gramm solo show is the real Foreigner. Mick Jones should let him back in the damn band if he don't wanna be out there.

Hey, Lou Rawls rules!
I think it's amazing we can watch these entire shows; but I can't imagine going to a concert and holding my phone up for over three hours.
The audience was impressive. For all the flak so-called "Corporate rock" received, it's definitely getting the last laugh. This isn't washed up Spinal Tap playing before a puppet show.
It's really the songs people are going to hear; so I'm ok with no actual members of Foreigner who played on the original recordings. But Kelly Hansen should drop his holier-than-thou diatribe on why Foreigner is retiring.
That being said, while audiences will forgive lineup changes, they do want to hear the hits. Styx's new Crash of the Crown was an obvious low point from an audience perspective.
And good on them playing Mr. Roboto. I know they hate Dennis DeYoung, but that song became a must-play classic.

I'm OK with Foreigner touring with no original members... But I'm not ok with them featuring Mick Jones on their posters and ads for a show if he's not going to be there. Tomorrow I'm going to see Megadeth, and Stradivarius will be opening. They haven't had an original member in nearly two decades, but I'm fine with that too.
BUT... if Paul and Ringo toured as The Beatles, I'd have a problem with it. Why is that? I don't know.
You bring up an interesting thing with Foreigner's retirement... Why exactly is the band stopping? Why couldn't it go on with new members every time one wants to leave, or dies? Mick Jones doesn't play in the band, he has a business manager, all he needs to do is cash the checks... And when he dies, he passes the business over to his kids. I really don't understand, it's not like the Stones who can't continue when Jagger or Richards eventually bite it.

That's what got Burton Cummings to finally reach a breaking point with The Guess Who. He heard a radio ad with his voice, singing his songs, and that's not what ticket-buyers were getting. As for why Foreigner is allegedly retiring, I think it's like all the others - marketing. Someone on the fence about buying a ticket may decide to go, thinking it could be their last chance. I'm with you that some iteration of Foreigner will keep going, even if Hansen has reached the end of the line. Yes, once either Jagger or Richards goes, so do the Stones.

Yeah, Foreigner is one of those bands its all about the song, not who is in the band. Back in the day & if I remember correctly, they were about as faceless as the man without a face. It was all about the catchy songs. And when I did see pics of the band, I thought I was looking at my next door neighbors, not rockstars. They ought to just keep the ball rolling. Styx- gotta laugh at them for playing Mr. Roboto. All they did since DDY left the band was bad mouth the song. Now they play it? Hmm, okay. It's a catchy song! I remember seeing DDY several years ago, and driving home the song that kept playing in my head was that damn Mr. Roboto song.
