Popoff says a lot of wacky shit, but he's pretty dead on when it comes to Priest. The 70's shit is pretty good/almost sometimes great, but things really fell apart artistically for that band in the 80's. Somebody posted "Love Bites" the other day, and I was all, this is garbage. 80's Priest is mostly shit, and that's their legacy that everybody somehow seems to love.
Still.
That Tipton can play; he's one of the GOATs. But KK brings down the twin guits. Those two will never be Piper Holmes.
Now.
The other thing is.
Look at that top 6. I'll repost it. I don't give a fuck.
Here!
1. Manowar
2. Marilyn Manson
3. Type O Negative
4. KISS
5. W.A.S.P.
6. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
That's a solid top 6, it is. Is Priest better than BRMC? No, they are not. It's true BRMC never released a song as great as "Painkiller," but they're hella more consistent, and they got that badass sound. Priest is goofy. No way I can rank them higher even if BRMC is one of the most boring bands I've ever seen live.

OK, first off. Mea culpa.
I misread the thread title. Me. Ronnie Burgenfeces.
I thought you guys were supposed to rank how I (Ronnie Burgenfeces) would rank these.
It''s a mistake on my part. A rare mistake, to be sure. A rare, rare mistake, but a mistake nonetheless, and i'm sorry about that. I'd like to apologize especially to suckit and heenan snuka, even though they both like Van halen, and Van Halen is stupid.
So, my eyerolling you is that I thought you thought I would rank Priest #7. Of course I wouldnt, but it's feasible you would. You after all, have the carcass of a dead dog shoved up your earholes.
You would have to- to think Popoff knows anything about priest, regardless of that he has written books (yes, books, plural) about them.
That fucker rates Hell Bent For Leather over British Steel! Insanity.
Now.
I've seen BRMC live, and I thought it was not boring. I was actually amazed how much sound two musicians (and a drummer) could make on stage.
You are right about Tipton vs Downing. Tipton is 80% of that duo, lead-wise. And probably songwriting wise (Although KK has done well for himself (in KK's Priest ((feat Ripper Owens) feat AJ Mills))), even if not top-tier, he has done a lot singlehandly and raised my estimation of him). But I wonder if Piper Holmes was really Piper Holmes. Piper does have the better solo in Sleeping (also known as Sleeping (in the fire)), but Holmes does the heavy lifting in WASP as well, to my ears.
A few things here. Then I'm going to get off my butt and do some cardio.
I forgot to mention Howl. That's a borderline masterpiece/masterpiece. Priest never released a borderline masterpiece/masterpiece. And I'm glad to hear BRMC was good when you saw them. Maybe they were having an off night when I saw them, or maybe the light guy at the HOB could have done more to bring the three piece to life.
I agree with the late respect for KK. While I may not like his +NEW+ music (which I think is mostly attributable to Ripper's voice which really started to grate), I do respect that he got off his butt and put this project together. That he is actively recording and touring is pretty badass for an old lady like KK.
And I'm kind of being funny with Piper Holmes, but kind of not. Piper was pretty badass and good vocals too. But I understand Holmes did more of the writing.
Now. You, yourself, being fuckhuey, are you going to rank the bands?
