The Ballad of Guitar Player magazine...

I always thought that GP was the worst anyway. No tabs and way too much jazz.

To the culture at large, guitar has been an afterthought for years.

Strike One.

The ones who do care - guitar players - are now broken into so many niches and subgenres, everything from blues to shred, with little to no crossover. So an all-encompassing periodical satisfies no one.

Strike Two.

No one reads magazines anymore.

Strike Three.

I remember those magazines tried to keep everything inside plastic, include picks, and CDs so people would buy it rather than reading it in the store. Guess that didn't work.
