As you may have noticed, I recently tweaked the forum's design slightly. This is all part of a bigger overhaul for which I've started revamping my main page (yes, there is a main page). It's going to take some time to get to a place where I'm somewhat happy with it because I'm only making little adjustments as I don't have a lot of time and I'm a newb at it. Whenever you guys have a minute, could you go on www.ElectricEyeRock.com and surf for a bit, and tell me what your experience is? What works, what doesn't work, what needs to be tweaked, redesigned or deleted? Again, this is nowhere near a "final" version, but it would be appreciated if you could let me know your thoughts before I go any further.

I took a look for a quick second and I am not sure if you intended to keep things this way - but have all your menu's at the top. Right now you have to scroll all the way down the page for menu options and personally I prefer something like this below. This is just a random example to give you an idea of what I mean. Everything is there to click on without having to scroll. Just my initial thoughts. You can tell me to fuck off.

It would be neat to have a direct link to the main site up at the top of the forum menu, maybe even first, "Main site" or something. So that I don't have to leave the site and do a Google search.
It would be tits to have an alphabetical list of all the artists that are featured on the site so that you don't have to dig through the search engine one by one. Maybe a verticle list on the left or right bar.
Speaking of the search engine, I tested with Suffocation: it listed their January 2024 show first, followed by the more recent Gaîté Lyrique show, and then way below it lists the 2022 show at Petit Bain; and then the interview we did a few months ago!... chronologically it's going all over the place! I would make it so that the most recent shows - or posts, rather - always come out on top, if possible of course!

All great points. The alphabetical list of bands is one that you had already suggested, and I started work on that a few months ago. Time to get back to it then.
eta: I've added a button to the "main page" at the top left of the menu tab.

This is just my $.02/constructive criticism.
I'm not crazy about the bouncing eyeball. It gives the site a bit of a grotesque, heavy metal feel.
You have a magnificent archive of excellent photographs and in-depth reviews, spanning all genres of music.
The name Electric Eye is solid; but there is a Judas Priest association. That's fine, too, but I could see someone who isn't a metal-head coming across your site and thinking it was predominantly metal, and not clicking any further.

Someone who isn't a metal head isn't even gonna know Electric Eye is a Priest tune.
I like the eye (bouncing? I see it spinning/rolling), kinda kitch but I think it adds a bit of fun.

I think Mojo would let you change the name of the site to Spooge, and that might be a fun and professional way to engage with new potential audience members.

I forgot about that ordeal, so I rescind my suggestion. The eyeball is fine! Actually I've seen sites go with more user-friendly names. For instance, gearslutz became gearspace.

Not exactly what you asked but the roaming eye in the clickable box on the forums just sends you to the forums that you are already on which is kind of fucking funny to me, but you might consider having it direct to the main page and not the forums or just not making it clickable unless it's intended as a pointless troll which I'm totally okay with it being.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone. It's still a work in progress, but it's looking better by the day. I mean, it still looks like it's something out of 1995, but I'm OK with that.

I would make it so that the most recent shows - or posts, rather - always come out on top, if possible of course! When you enter a search query, the results can be displayed two different ways. There is an option on the page to sort by date or sort by relevance. You just have to click on the "Sort By Date" button and voilà.

I haven’t seen animated gifs like that on a site since about 2002.
Put a web counter on and a “under construction” graphic like a road sign, and don’t forget to put some web ring links down the bottom.
RIP www 1.0
