It apparently can be yer cardio, tho. Very inefficiently, and you'd be tearing up your arms in the process. Nobody does that.
Stupid.
Pwnd.

First off, the nastiness can stop. Secondly, you dont have the info to judge this. You didnt see my form, intensity, or rate of eccentrics. Lastly, why dont you say what youre doing on chest day thats so hot shit?

A man your age should be lifting weights to build and retain muscle mass.
But you read some misinformation on social media that told you to work out like a bitch, so that's what you're gonna do.
Your body. Not my problem.

The NoblemanThat is a very immature attitude. Weights are fine. But they are boring, and not as functional as calisthenics or strongman stuff. As we age- mobility, stabalizer muscles, and understanding of body movements are actually superior.
But I would not expect to get a stupid, arrogant, conceited, stupid and arrogant person like you to open your mind.
You wi also never pick up cool skills like handstand or planche or stuff like that. You'll just move weight up and down.
Do you have a home gym? Free weights or some sort of bowflex thing?

I can see you nunyaed the bottom of your post.
I've written ad nauseum what I do and the equipment I have. If you didn't retain it, you're welcome to dig through the annals of the forums.
My workouts change very little over the years. My workouts are results-based. I may tweak something, see how my body responds, then keep the change or revert back. In this way, one could say my workouts are science-based. I get maximum return on my time and effort.
You, on the other hand, seem to be throwing darts randomly at a board, based on what you feel is hip and exciting, and assume what you're doing is effective when you really have no idea.

First off, I ain’t searching for shit. You don’t want to tell me, FUCK YOU!! No one cares that much.
You might be unaware how a message board works, it’s a fun exchange of ideas. If someone posts “what’s your favorite WASP album?” You don’t post “ I’ve answered that somewhere on the internet, search for it.” Not only is it poor form, it’s giving yourself altogether more credit than you’ve earned.
You have no evidence that your workout makes you baller, and in fact are not providing any verification that you are in fact a guru.
All this in your very own fitness thread. Way to motivate, engage with, share, and learn. Shame on you. Shame on you.

I do my own variation of bro splits, that resembles push-pull-leg.
I had some injuries which kept me off the barbell for a while. But I've gradually got back to using it, including squats and deadlifts. I'm not moving the amount of weight as previously. But my knee pain is almost completely gone, which is a miracle.
I've also been doing lunges, which I honestly thought I'd never be able to do again.
So my leg day is: Barbell squat (3 X 8) Barbell dead lift (3 X 12) Dumbbell lunge (3 X 10) Leg curl (machine) (3 X 10 or 12) Dumbbell calf raise (3 X 10 or 12)

If someone posts “what’s your favorite WASP album?” You don’t post “ I’ve answered that somewhere on the internet, search for it.” I know that your favorite WASP album is the debut. I know you think Circus is underrated, and you particularly enjoy "Restless Gypsy." I know you like that irredeemable pile of shit, Kill, Fuck, Die. And I know you claim to have been at the Sting show.
How do I know this?
Because I retain what I read.
I know *ech* claims to be married, fat, and unemployed.
I know pieceofme has orchestrated a vast conspiracy trying to link suckit to spirit.
I know Psychobolia gets laid 3.65 times/year and enjoys skateboarding and reading a large Bukowski short story compilation translated to French.
I know Man of Spooge was from New Zealand or Australia.
I know Mojo's first Aerosmith album was Get a Grip.
I know you like to paint pictures of women with penises.
I know Molly lives in Lower Alabama and is a grandfather.
I know who Bahana is on Sludge and who he was on Spooge.
I know DemonFilth's bitch has fake tits and a gay son, and DemonFilth loves Collective Soul.
I know Greatwhitedopehead is petty, whiny, fake, fat, boring and stupid.
I know all this shit because I retain what I read.
And I know you work out inconsistently and erratically and you think muscle mass is fake.
And I know your head is up your ass.

Well, most of the above is pretty impressive. However the last 2 are not accurate. Of course you remember what my thoughts are on all things WASP, though. Because..........
I'm your idol.
Also......
......while I dont dislke Restless Gypsy, I consider it one of the weaker songs on ITEC. Easy Livin, Mantronic, KOSAG, The Rock Rolls On, I'm Alive, title Track, 95 Nasty, Shoot from the Hip and Easy Livin all are better. So is I'm Alive, if we're being honest.
Restless Gypsy is too blandly formulaic and going for pop-rock crossover. I do still like it though. So.......
.... pwnd!
Also......
Sweet Cheetah beats out Restless Gypsy as well.
Also.....
... I dont claim to have been at The Sting show. I was at the Sting show. I still have Chris Holmes' sweatband from that show on my doorknob, and can be seen in the live video in the crowd.
so....
pwnd x2!

Mid 50's and striving to find the balance of pushing myself without getting injured. The endorphin rush of a new personal best is intoxicating, but I've seen friends pay the price chasing it.
One guy got a hernia earlier this year; and since we were in the midst of omicron, it took months for him to get the surgery scheduled. Essentially it threw his training off for the entire year.
So I'm fighting the urge to work toward benching my weight. I've done it before but it's been a few years. I'm not a big guy, weighing in around 155 lbs. I've been doing moderate reps (8,8,7,6) at 125 lbs. and I probably could move 150-155 lbs. at least for a single rep.
Typically I lift alone (no spotter) which I know isn't a good idea. But I may experiment with loading the bar 5-10 lbs. more.
Also, the cooler temps have made workouts far less taxing.

125? You gotta bump up to a single plate on each side, if for nothing else than respectability!
Agree, about injury being in the forefront of mind as we get older. I see the nobleman has left the thread, due to being unable to rank in the top 10 of fittest EEyers.

I see the nobleman has left the thread, due to being unable to rank in the top 10 of fittest EEyers. I've thought of that - I've done 135+ in the past and know I could now. And it is a lot easier to just slap the 45 lb. plates on than what I'm doing now. Just easing my way back up. Without a spotter I don't clamp the sides, so I can dump the weight if necessary. But at 125, it's not an issue. I've read lifters for and against, but I am doing full ROM, bar-to-chest. Like most, if I struggle it's the beginning of the lift getting the bar off the chest. Kinda like squats - I'm not doing as much weight as I used to, but am doing full ROM, "ass-to-the-grass."
